Novant Health Pediatrics Berewick is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)!

 

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm, Thursdays 6:45am-2:30pm

You’ll work alongside a collaborative clinical team while building meaningful relationships with patients and supporting them throughout their care journey. 

 

This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience working with pediatrics patients or in a medical office setting, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply!

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
    •  Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:

Job responsibilities include:

  • Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, and prepare patients for provider examinations and procedures.
  • Administer immunizations and perform point-of-care testing while ensuring accurate documentation of results.
  • Maintain inventory by ordering, stocking, and organizing clinical supplies throughout exam rooms and patient care areas.
  • Perform daily deep cleaning and sanitization of exam rooms to support infection control and patient safety standards.
  • Conduct laboratory quality control procedures and assist with audits to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
