What We Offer

The  CSSO "Regional" Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of selected patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures; reports needs and concerns to licensed nurse. CSSO Safety Attendants are responsible for providing safe, continuous quality patient care in a variety of settings. The CSSO SA is part of a market based, corporate float pool team that is assigned to varying units during their shift to ensure that patient care needs are met within the assigned facility. These Safety Attendants possess the skills, competency and qualifications, as well as a requirement to work in 5 pre-determined facilities within the Coastal market. 

 

  • Schedule: 6:45pm - 7:15am, NIGHT Shift, Part-Time (Shift Differential; Float Pool Differential)
  • Department: Safety Attendant

    • Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center 
    • Novant Health New Hanover Orthopedic Hospital 
    • Novant Health Pender Medical Center
    • Novant Health Scotts Hills
    • Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred. 
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required.
    • Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required.
    • Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required. 
  • Additional Skills (required): 
    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines.
    • Ability to work with all age group patients or act as a companion.
    • Basic computer skills for documentation.
