What You'll Have

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of direct care experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Medication Administration certification (if designated for the role).
  • Required clearances, including Acts 33 & 34 and FBI clearance when applicable.
  • Physical examination and tuberculosis screening maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • For Community Participation Support Enhanced Services, applicable certifications or degrees as required by service definitions.

A Typical Day May Include

  • Supporting individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISP).
  • Assisting with community integration, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and social engagement.
  • Promoting independence in daily living skills, personal care, and decision-making.
  • Supporting individuals with vocational exploration and employment-focused activities.
  • Providing transportation and accompanying individuals to appointments, activities, and community events.
  • Monitoring health, safety, and well-being in all environments.
  • Implementing behavior support plans and communication strategies.
  • Administering medications in accordance with certification and agency policies.
  • Completing documentation, service notes, health records, and other required reports.
  • Collaborating with team members, families, and community partners to provide high-quality support.
  • Participating in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
