Role Summary
Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment, machinery, tools, and facility systems remain safe, reliable, and operational. The primary goal is to minimize equipment downtime and prevent unexpected breakdowns, while also assessing equipment maintainability and reliability to ensure the operational continuity of plant processes.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the ideal candidate will possess a strong track record and excellent communication skills for managing the supplier portfolio. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate a hands-on approach and a passion for driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & efficiency
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems before they cause downtime.
· Perform lubrication, adjustments, replacements, and routine servicing.
· Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to operational conditions.
· Maintain and repair concrete production equipment, mixers, pumps, conveyors, vibrators, forklifts, cranes, compressors, and other plant equipment.
· Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed for equipment repairs and modifications.
· Maintain and repair molds, tools, fixtures, guards, and other production-related equipment.
· Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment issues.
· Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
· Work closely with the Production and Operations teams to minimize interruptions to the production schedule.
· Identify recurring equipment problems and participate in root-cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.
· Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, modifications, and improvements.
· Keep the maintenance area, tools, and equipment organized and in good working condition.
Facility & Workflow
· Ensure daily housekeeping priorities are met to maintain a safe and organized facility.
· Coordinate manufacturing floor mold organization, mapping out processes for optimal mold utilization.
Key Results
· Maintain =95% preventive maintenance completion.
· Maintain =95% critical equipment availability.
· Reduce unplanned equipment downtime by 15–20%.
· Complete 100% required safety inspections and LOTO procedures.
· Resolve and document equipment breakdowns within established response and repair times.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required.
· 2+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or plant maintenance preferred.
· Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting experience.
· Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
· Basic welding and fabrication skills.
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
· Experience operating and maintaining industrial tools and equipment.
· Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and general industrial safety practices.
· Ability to use basic diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to equipment breakdowns.
· Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle maintenance tools and equipment.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
