About this role
ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in New England and planning for the future of the electric grid. The Market Operations Analyst will support Day-Ahead and Real-Time Energy Markets operations, monitor market prices, perform market and system operations analysis, improve processes, and develop and test market software changes.
What you'll do:
- Executing and approving the Day-Ahead Market
- Monitoring and finalizing Real-Time Energy Market Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs), Reserve Market Clearing Prices (RMCPs), and Regulation Clearing Prices (RCPs)
- Carrying out complex pre- and post-production market and system operations analysis
- Actively participating in process improvement
- Developing, testing and delivering market process or software changes
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Math, Science, or other relevant areas
- Ability to work independently, use good judgment, and manage priorities effectively while meeting production deadlines
- Experience providing exceptional customer service and working successfully in a team environment
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and advanced report writing and presentation skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel and/or Access
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours and weekend coverage
- Assistant Analyst: 0+ years of experience or knowledge
- Associate Analyst: 1+ years of industry experience
- Analyst: 4+ years of industry experience
- Senior Analyst: 6+ years of industry experience
