Overview

Shift: M-F, 8:00a-4:30p

Responsible for completing psychosocial assessments, leading one on one and group therapy within a behavioral health space in accordance with evidence-based practices. Assesses patient needs based upon a face-to-face clinical interview, case history review and information obtained from collateral sources such as family members, the referent or other parties. Recognizes signs/symptoms associated with risk of harm to self and/or others and implements appropriate interventions as necessary. Develops and implements an appropriate treatment plan of care for the patient based upon relevant clinical information and diagnosis. Consults with family members or professionals from other agencies/organizations as necessary in developing optimal treatment services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychosocial and diagnostic assessments and diagnose patients in accordance with the current DSM.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide evidence-based individual, couples, family, group, and crisis psychotherapy.
  • Engage family, friends, and other collateral supports in treatment and coordinate care or referrals as clinically indicated.
  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to diverse patient populations across ages, diagnoses, and comorbidities within scope of licensure and competency.
  • Participate in required trainings, department meetings, huddles, and educational activities; provide clinical supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians or practicum students as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation, current licensure/certifications, payer eligibility, and compliance with productivity standards.
  • Uphold UnityPoint Health values and standards while adhering to HIPAA, ethical, safety, and applicable federal/state healthcare regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid compliance requirements.
  • Provide additional services as applicable to the site of care, including Employee Assistance Program services and court commitment reports, and maintain regular, reliable attendance.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited program

Experience:

  • 2 years post graduate degree
  • 1 year of experience working with this site’s clientele is preferred.

Licensure:

  • Iowa: LISW, LMFT, LMHC
  • Illinois: LCPC, LISW, LCSW, LMFT
  • Wisconsin: LCSW, LMFT, LPC
  • May be required to obtain BLS within six months of hire for certain sites.
