About this role

Cape Fox Concentric Methods is accepting resumes for a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide a full range of physical therapy assistant services in support of the Defense Health Agency Medical Q-Coded Support and Services, Next Generation task order at the Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The PTA will provide out patient treatment plans, corrective exercise programs, gait training, transfer training, therapeutic modalities, functional mobility activities, patient instruction, and documentation support.

The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $40.91 up to 40 hours per week. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $35.82 plus $5.09 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. This rate represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.  In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of physical therapy assistant services as directed by the supervising physical therapist.
  • Carry out corrective exercise and treatment programs for assigned patients under the direction of the head physical therapist or supervising physical therapist.
  • Administer treatment interventions under supervision, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, massage, whirlpool, hot packs, diathermy, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs, and traction.
  • Instruct patients on assigned portions of the treatment program, including the proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, braces, prosthetic appliances, and other supportive or assistive devices.
  • Administer intermittent and static traction to relieve neck and back pain using appropriate traction equipment and prescribed treatment parameters.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in learning and improving functional activities, including pre-ambulation, transfers, ambulation, and daily living activities.
  • Observe patients during treatment sessions and monitor patient tolerance, safety, and response to therapy.
  • Compile and evaluate data regarding patient response to treatment and progress toward goals.
  • Report patient progress, concerns, treatment response, and relevant observations orally or in writing to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Support patient mobility, safe body mechanics, functional independence, rehabilitation goals, and continuity of care.
  • Assist with maintaining treatment areas, equipment, supplies, and patient care spaces in a clean, safe, organized, and mission-ready condition.
  • Follow established treatment plans, clinical instructions, documentation requirements, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain professional communication with patients, family members, Government personnel, clinical staff, and company representatives.
  • Maintain required license, certification, competency documentation, training, credentialing, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
  • Comply with applicable Military Treatment Facility policies, DHA requirements, HIPAA requirements, local procedures, safety requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Notify the appropriate Government supervisor and company leadership of any inability to perform scheduled duties as required.

Work Schedule:  The Physical Therapy Assistant shall perform services during one of the following shift options: five 8-hour shifts within the hours of 0600 and 1700, depending on patient care needs and the schedule established by the Government supervisor. Scheduled work shall not exceed 40 scheduled hours per week or 80 scheduled hours every two weeks.

  • Minimum of 12 months of experience within the last 36 months as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Graduation from a physical therapy assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • No additional board certification is required.
  • No equivalency determination may be requested as a substitute for the education requirements for this labor category.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant in any one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • A license is required unless the applicable state uses certification or registration in lieu of licensure as provided by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Must maintain all required clinical competency documentation, credentials, license, certification, registration, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
