About this role
## Role
- Behavior Planning: Build and improve behavior planning logic for urban driving, auto parking, and safety features. This includes state machines, mode arbitration, feature activation/abort conditions, and fault handling.
- Multi-ECU SW Integration: Integrate ADAS application software across multiple ECUs and embedded Linux platforms. Handle interface definitions, signal mapping, timing, and data flow between domains.
- Requirements to Code: Break system-level ADAS requirements down into software tasks and keep the implementation traceable to those requirements.
- SW Testing & Validation: Validate software through unit tests, SIL/HIL, test benches, and on-vehicle testing. Support vehicle builds and field operational tests (FOTs).
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with perception, motion planning & control, vehicle controls, HMI, systems, and validation teams to deliver features end to end.
- Release Support: Contribute to software releases, interface change management, and documentation. Track work in Jira with clear, reproducible results.
## Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of relevant industry or research experience in ADAS/AD, robotics, or embedded systems.
- Strong C++ programming skills and a solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience developing and debugging on Linux, and with Git-based workflows.
- Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, state machines, or decision-making logic for autonomous systems.
- Strong debugging skills, eagerness to learn, and clear communication.
## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embedded or automotive platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Orin, Infineon Aurix) or multi-ECU architectures.
- Familiarity with middleware such as ROS/ROS 2, DDS, or SOME/IP.
- Python for tooling, log analysis, or test automation.
- Hands-on project experience in urban driving, parking, or active safety features (e.g., AEB).
## Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Range (Annual): $134,700–$185,240 USD. Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays; paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program.
