Sponsorship checker

Will this job sponsor your visa?

Paste a job link or description. We flag the phrases that rule out visa holders, the ones that say they sponsor, and show what the company has actually filed with the government.

The job posting

We read the posting for the phrases that rule out visa holders, like "no sponsorship now or in the future", "U.S. citizens only" or a security clearance, and for the ones that say they sponsor. Then we show what the company has actually filed.

We run this check on every job before we apply for you.
ApplyBolt finds jobs that match you, tailors your resume to each one and applies on company sites. If you need sponsorship, postings that rule you out never make your list.

What the fine print means

  • “Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future”No. Even if OPT covers you today, they won't file an H-1B later.
  • “We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa”No, including H-1B transfers.
  • “U.S. citizens only / U.S. citizens and green card holders”No visa holders, usually for government or regulated work.
  • “Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance required”Clearances need US citizenship, so no.
  • “Must be a U.S. person (ITAR / EAR)”Export-control roles: citizens, green card holders and asylees or refugees only.
  • “Must be legally authorized to work in the US”Not a no on its own. OPT and H-1B holders are authorized.
  • “Visa sponsorship is available for this role”Yes. Ask which visas, and whether they file green cards later.
  • “E-Verify employer”Required for STEM OPT, so a good sign for STEM students.

Questions people ask

Does "authorized to work in the US" mean they won't sponsor?

Not by itself. If you are on OPT or already on an H-1B, you are authorized to work. The words that rule you out are "without sponsorship", "now or in the future" or "cannot sponsor".

The posting says nothing about sponsorship. Should I apply?

Usually yes, if the company has a record of sponsoring people in similar roles. Most postings don't mention sponsorship at all. The company card in the result shows its filings so you can judge.

Is a company that filed H-1Bs guaranteed to sponsor me?

No. Filings show past behavior across the company. Some teams or roles don't sponsor, and policies change. Ask the recruiter early, ideally before the first interview.

Do you store what I paste?

We read the text to check it and don't save it to your account. Links are fetched once to read the posting.
